CDF Organization Eligibility Questionnaire

Please note that this questionnaire is not a substitute for a thorough review of our CDF Application Guidelines and is not a final determination of eligibility.

Do you possess a Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN)?

Yes

You meet this requirement.

You are not eligible to apply. Eligible organizations must possess a Federal EIN.

Do you have 501(c)3 federal tax status or have a fiscal sponsor/conduit?

Yes

You meet this requirement. If you are using a fiscal sponsor/conduit, reach out to cdfhelpdesk@culture.nyc.gov for additional information.

You are not eligible to apply. Organizations must possess 501(c)3 federal tax status or apply with an eligible fiscal sponsorship/conduit organization.

Are you incorporated in New York State as a not-for-profit organization?

Yes

You meet this requirement.

You are not eligible to apply. Eligible organizations must be incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in New York State.

Is a New York City address displayed on your IRS 990 for the fiscal year ending 2023?

Yes

You meet this requirement.

You are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be based in New York City and be able to demonstrate administrative and programmatic operations within any of the five boroughs of New York City. Your administrative address is determined by your IRS 990.

Can you demonstrate arts and cultural activities you provided in the last two years? You must demonstrate cultural income and expenses in your budget in the last two years as well as documentation of cultural activities in the application.

You are not eligible to apply. Eligible organizations must demonstrate arts and cultural activities in New York City—programmatically and financially—over the last two years.

Are you a parent teacher association or organization?

Yes

Parent teacher associations or organizations are not eligible to apply for CDF funding.

You meet this requirement.

Are you a member of the Cultural Institutions Group ?

Yes

Members of the Cultural Institutions Group are not eligible to apply for CDF funding.

You meet this requirement.

Are you a government agency program on either the city, state, or US federal level, including, but not limited to, New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, New York City Public Library, Queens Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library or National Parks Service? This includes Component Units of the City of New York.

Yes

Projects and programs of other government agencies are not eligible to apply for CDF funding.
